A writer, musician, professor, and philosopher… a true Renaissance man.

  Born into a large family where solitude was a luxury, Brian wandered through the world with wide eyes, walking slowly, wishing the journey would never end. He still does. 

​

  Family lore has it that one night after repeated knocks on the bedroom door with complaints and issues of  their many young children, they decided they wanted  true quiet in the detached garage, retreating to their prized possession, an old Ford Edsel.  They turned on the radio and stumbled upon Bobby Darren. That's where Idle Edsel was conceived in the back seat of an old idle Edsel with the sound of Bobby Darren in the background.

 He took his first class in kindergarten at Old Dominion University and his last class as a Doctoral Student at Old Dominion University;   He spent most of his life as a writer, musician, and  College Professor.
